I started Booz News originally as Ashland Booz News when I lived in Ashland, Virginia. At that time, the craft beer and spirits boom was just starting in Central Virginia, and my site was a place for people to get information about new breweries, distilleries, and releases. It was then and remains not my full time job but a way to share an interest of mine. As the scene expanded rapidly, I found I wasn't able to keep up on a part time basis and it led to some thinking about what I wanted to do with Booz News going forward. Thinking about it, I decided that what I enjoyed most was the experience and sharing that experience with others. That, along with a greater focus on craft spirits set the stage for Booz News.
